Jan 09, Friday: The fifth day of the Infant Jesus Novena was devoted to choir members and musicians, celebrating their role in leading the faithful through sacred music and prayer. The day’s theme, “Every fruitful branch he prunes for more fruit,” was reflected upon in the light of the teachings of St John of the Cross, inviting the faithful to embrace spiritual purification in preparation for entering the wedding feast of the Lamb.

As part of the day’s observances, the Infant Jesus Shrine, in collaboration with Father Muller Medical Institutions, organized a blood donation camp to promote voluntary blood donation and encourage community participation in saving lives. The camp was formally inaugurated by Mr Anil Lobo, Chairman of MCC Bank, in the presence of Dr Kirana Piloor of Father Muller Medical College, Fr William Miranda of Carmel Jyothi Charitable Trust, Fr Melvin D’Cunha, Superior of St Joseph’s Monastery, Fr Stifan Perera, Director of the Infant Jesus Shrine, and Mr Dolphy D’Souza.

One of the spiritual highlights of the day was the Eucharistic Adoration held immediately after the 10.30 a.m. Mass. Many devotees experienced a deep sense of comfort and hope as they spent time in silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, entrusting their intentions to the Infant Jesus. In the afternoon, a community lunch was prepared and served to the devotees, strengthening bonds of fellowship.

The evening programme began with the 6.00 p.m. Mass, followed by the Infant Jesus Rosary. The meditative recitation of the rosary drew the faithful into a profound prayer experience. Throughout the day, the shrine remained a vibrant centre of prayer, reflection, service, and spiritual renewal.
