Jan. 5, 2026: The Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte, commenced its nine-day Novena in preparation for the annual Feast of the Infant Jesus. The Novena opened with deep devotion and faith, inviting the faithful to a time of spiritual reflection and renewal.

The first day of the Novena was centered on the theme “The marriage of the Lamb has come,” setting a sacred and contemplative tone for the days ahead. This day was specially dedicated to all those working abroad, remembering their struggles, sacrifices, and hard work while living far from their loved ones. Special prayers were offered for their intentions during the Novena Masses.

At the 11:30 a.m. Mass, Rt. Rev Dr. Ignatius Dwouza, Bishop of Bareilly, offered the solemn Eucharistic celebration, prayed for the intentions of the devotees, and thanked the Carmelites for their dedicated service at the shrine.

Novena Masses were celebrated throughout the day, drawing devotees from all walks of life to participate in this sacred observance. As a gesture of care and hospitality, reflecting the shrine’s commitment to service and community, a nourishing noon meal was served to all the devotees present.

The nine-day Novena promises to be a time of grace, devotion, and unity as the faithful prepare their hearts for the grand celebration of the Feast of the Infant Jesus.
