Jan 10, Saturday: The sixth day of the Infant Jesus Novena, dedicated to children and teachers, was observed with deep devotion and vibrant participation at the Infant Jesus Shrine. The day’s reflections centred on the theme “Father, if you will, remove this chalice,” drawing inspiration from the spiritual teachings of St. John of the Cross.

The day began with a series of novena Masses, with nine Eucharistic celebrations offered in multiple languages, reflecting the shrine’s inclusive spirit and welcoming devotees from diverse backgrounds. Each Mass provided an opportunity for the faithful to unite in prayer and seek the intercession of the Infant Jesus.

The 10.30 a.m. Mass was presided over by Rt. Rev. Dr. Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary. Following the Eucharistic celebration, aspecial adoration session was held, focusing on prayers for the well-being and future of children. As an expression of fellowship and generosity, a common meal was shared with all the devotees present.

An open-air Mass held in the evening added a vibrant and devotional highlight to the sixth day of the Infant Jesus Novena. Children, dressed as the Infant Jesus and Mother Mary, actively participated in the liturgy, assuming various roles with devotion and reverence. The Mass was presided over by Fr. Stephen Lobo and was dedicated to Carmelite priests serving in Canada. A children’s choir further enriched the celebration, adding to the prayerful atmosphere of the liturgy.

The day concluded with the recitation of the Infant Jesus Rosary at 7.00 p.m. a cherished tradition that brought the community together once again in quiet reflection and devotion. The prayerful gathering served as a fitting conclusion to a day that celebrated faith, hope, and community, beautifully witnessed through the innocence and joy of children.
